The last time Stickybuds was on tour here in the UK, he stayed a few nights with his good friend, Skope. With these two great musical minds under one roof, it was inevitable that ideas would be bounced around and new tunes would be made and that’s exactly what went down. ‘Change Your Mind’ is the result of this mighty collaboration and just as mighty is the track they’ve come up with. Supercharged bass, fat beats and a lick of funky sax is what this monster has been fed on and what a fine specimen it has turned out to be!

Over the recent holiday season, Featurecast hunkered down to get on with some music work and came up with this sublime remix of one of his favourite ever tunes ‘Can I Kick It’ by one of his favourite groups ever ‘A Tribe Called Quest‘. If you’ve always thought that this is one of those tracks that shouldn’t be touched, it may be time to re-think your views because his funky fresh and chilled take on the original is absolute first class. You’ll be very pleased you chose to give this one a spin.

Motte is another new producer we’ve recently discovered. Well, we say new, as it seems Motte is an alias for a popular artist who is wanting to keep their identity a secret for the time being. One thing we can confirm though is that they’re here to make music, Disco music and what an introduction we have for you from him/her.

The incredible introduction from Motte comes with this edit posted of Gary Byrd & The G.B.Experience‘s 1983 classic ‘The Crown’. Is the original wasn’t already funky enough, Motte has somehow managed to intensify the groove that lies beneath the lyrical skills of Gary Byrd and the silky tones of Stevie Wonder who he co-wrote ‘The Crown’ with. As far as hunting gems goes, this one is absolutely priceless!

Mood Funk Records is a label that deals in Tech House with a distinct Funk flavour. They’ve released a huge amount of quality music and because of that they’ve just passed 10,000 followers on Soundcloud and yep, this free tune posted is their thank you present for all the support they’ve received and what a corker it is!

The track in question is a rework of Oliver Cheatham‘s ‘Get Down Saturday Night’ which they’ve raised the tempo of and fixed up with an energy that’s so damn addictive. You’ll do well to sit still while this is playing, so you may as well get up before you press play and get ready to move!

The Lowering The Tone podcast is one we always look forward to sitting down to listen to here on the ward. You’re always guaranteed to hear some of the finest music around and an interview with some of the most talented producers on the planet.

For episode 17, Ben Coda takes the helm and kicks off with just under an hours worth of Deep Techno and Tech House with an old skool flavour. There’s also new music from, Nanoplex, which fits in very nicely because for this podcasts interview, Ben sits down with his Nanoplex compadre, Chris Williams aka, DJ Ipcress, to talk about how to get gigs at festivals, Chris’ background, music genres and they answer a number of questions from the regular listeners of the podcast that were sent over to the LTT Facebook page. It’s a podcast that offers plenty and is well worthy of a listen so if you want to know more, hit the links below and you’re onto a winner.

You’ll also find new music that’s been released on LTT, with the latest track coming from Meat Katie and Neurodriver. It’s twisted slab of Techno you need in your lives! Check it here :

Freiboitar & Pete Adams ‘Get Back EP’ is out now on Indiana Tones. The title track combines the pleasing heavy kicks of Tech House with Latin Jazz cum US House delectability. ‘Downdurground’ furthers that propensity for US style beats. You could, in fact be listening to an early 00’s Roger Sanchez/David Morales track albeit with an edgy twist. Two funky cuts to lay your mits on as quick as you can!!!

Caspa is back on it with the well, venomous beats of ‘Venom’ That’s right, its time for your bass poison courtesy of Caspa on the Sub Soldiers imprint. with an intro like Jaws swimming up to the beach, ‘Venom’ is a deadly (sic) blend of Grime & Bass. The bassline grabs you by the scruff of the neck and shakes you around vigorously. The beats propel forward in minimalist but incredibly effective fashion. You don’t need the remedy, you need this poison, you need ‘venom’
