Once again, LSM has been rummaging in the musical undergrowth to bring you a round up of mixtape treats, from breaks to swing and beyond! Featuring ditties from our heros, friends and family …

Kicking things off we have some booty bass breaks from Deekline – live and direct from the UK’s 4 day festival Boomtown Fair. Smashing it in the Arcadia district … expect the unexpected!

Live from their stomping, sell out boat party back in August time, The Stantons tear it up like only they can showing us that breakbeat certainly isn’t dead.

Meat Katie launches his very own podcast ‘Lowering the Tone’ with a cracking first episode. Squeezing in an interview with Micah Black (From Black & Blunt), this is 2 hours of his quality taste in tuna.

Now this is how to build a set! Last month seen Simon Shackleton aka Elite Force throw a private party – Forcefields – at his little farm tucked away in the South East England. This 5hr set, starting off deep and ending up rockin’ even had the sheep pointing their glowsticks!

Janette Slack kicks the living daylights out of it at Camden’s Lockside Lounge annual shindig: Chick In Da Mix. Showcasing the best in shejay talent, this was a party to remember.

This month’s mix from LSM’s Fifties will get you bumping and grinding to synth heavy electro, breakbeat, tech-funk and beyond! A true journey through the musical spectrum.

A cracking new mix from the man behind Colchester’s night Mind-funkA:B:S aka Andy Beckett. Showing off what his party is all about – techfunk all the way!

Hailing from Maidstone in Kent, SD Outfit unleashes this very fun and very funky mix! Breaks … techno … electro … You got it!!

LSM contributor Julie-Anne Murphy takes us back to the 1920s with this swing inspired mixtape. Truly one to get your tail feathers shaking.

Dancefloor Outlaws - Patron

We love a good movie on downtime here in the hideout, even better if its got a killer soundtrack. The original of this track (Systema Solar – Quien Es El Patron?) made it into our sets after catching it on the Oliver Stone film, Savages. We thought it needed some extra boom… we put it through the machine… now we’re giving it to you! Enjoy! x

BASSNECTAR DROPS PART 2 OF HIS IMMERSIVE MIXTAPE ...

EXPECT BASS ..

The Immersive Music Mixtape is designed as a two part journey through the broad spectrum of my love for music.

While it isn’t all encompassing, it’s definitely reflective of both the wild side, and the deeper, more melodic side. I wanted to explore unique ideas or leftfield directions while still bringing the heaviest sound possible, and part of that involves reaching back into the old throwbacks & classics, sampling their magic, and reinventing them with new energy. Twisting it all up into an extended ride through my imagination…

Some of this is mixed like a peak-time set with all levels set to 11, while a lot of it goes deeper than usual; more ethereal, more surreal, more experimental.

Kind of like a sunrise set, in some strange Other World where the sunlight melts your mind. :)

On this brand new Side Two excursion, take a trip through my sonic kaleidoscope and hear brand new music as well as some vintage selections and re-creations, with exclusives including remixes of Grimes, The Deftones, Lux and Telefon Tel Aviv.

Tracklisting:

Synthetic Hype is a Breaks duo comprised of two veteran DJs, producers, and sound designers.Known to benchpress basslines, these two mix grit with silk. Both originally from Vancouver, Canada - they veer from the norm and away from the brain damaged 4 on the floor crowd. Their no-nonsense production and 'against the grain approach' to engineering leaves most believing the hype.

*This was my debut EP in 2008, back when I was just called Showtime*

**It’s five years old now, so I thought I’d give it away for free. Enjoy..!**

BANDCAMP DOWNLOAD - tomshowtime.bandcamp.com/album/the-sh…time-ep-2008

“The Showtime EP blends so many genres, but is probably defined best as down-tempo electronica with a hip-hop feel. Showtime bursts onto the scene, with a fresh sounding release that showcases his talents as a producer, dj and musician. Tracks like ‘Doobe Bop’ and ‘Rare Medium’ are proper head boppers, deep yet bouncy with spaced out sax sounds. ‘Punchy Disco’ lives up to the name, with a more solid beat that’s bound to get some feet tapping. While ‘Normality’ and ‘My Soul Fell Out’ provide the down-tempo grooves that round this record out. Listening to these five tracks, you’ll definitely know it’s Showtime…”

1. Normality
2. Doobe Bop
3. Punchy Disco
4. Rare Medium
5. My Soul Fell Out
