Nothing brings people together more than funky music! For the inaugural Funk Parade in 2014, local DJ and funk producer Qdup crafted a banging Funk Parade promo dj mix which now has over 22,000 streaming plays. The Funk Parade is back on May 2nd, 2015 and will be bigger and better than last year, and likewise Qdup has delivered another promo DJ mix to get DC into a funky groove.
The fifty minute Funk Parade 2015 Promo mix includes rare and exclusives remixes of classics by Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Sly & The Family Stone, Etta James and many more, offering something for everybody. The mix also features Funk Parade PSA’s by DC’s own Edy Blu, Mustafa Akbar of Nappy Riddem and Fort Knox Five and Elin of Alma Tropicalia. As if all of this were not enough, Qdup has graced this dj mix with two unreleased exclusive tunes being premiered for the first time. Local dj duo All Good Funk Alliance have recorded a brand new tune, Make It Go-Go featuring Big Tony of Trouble Funk. And Qdup included his forthcoming Funk & Dance single featuring Mustafa Akbar, coming out in May on DC’s own Fort Knox Recordings.
