Damon Hess – Smash Up My Heart
So who’s ready for another H.U.G.E house anthem on Drenched Records? Damon Hess ‘Smash Up My Heart’ is due out on 09/06/17 and it will remind you why you cannot resist a great piano house tune!!!!
Both the original and club mixes of Damon Hess ‘Smash Up My Heart’ bask in the glory of 90’s. The pianos and organs may have the oldskool flourish but the pitched down vocals and super tight production are most definitely of the now. This one’s a bona fide ‘make the club go wild’ tune with sing a long vocals and hand raiser synths.
Preset takes the original in a pounding big room tech house direction swapping the rushy pianos for a deeper arrangement of keys, a peak time mover perfect for starting, transitioning or ending your DJ set. ‘Drenched’ in quality, be sure to smash up your speakers with this release as soon as it hits the download stores on 09/06/17

Lo Cutz – Quarter Past 4
Lo Cutz is a House producer from Ireland who was introduced to us by our fellow blogging brother and top selector of great music, Tariq Ziyad of Free Breaks Blog. Big thanks go to him for bringing Lo Cutz to our attention as he has the kind of music that has a real peak-time vibe about it and the type to set floors alight. Although he’s only dropped a small number of tracks so far, the music you’ll find from him is the kind you’ll reach for when you’ve got the crowd pumped and it’s time to drop a biggie, which is quite apt for this latest tune of his posted as it features a vocal snippet from Notorious B.I.G‘s ‘Nasty Boy‘. It’s a high energy tune for proper party people, much like the rest of his work.
Get his tune and them get him followed as this is a producer who is on the way to great things.

Doomwork- Cantico EP
https://roomsuniverse.bandcamp.com/releases
Doomwork beat to a different drum and they do it in style as demonstrated by their ‘Cantico EP’
Listening to Doomwork’s ‘Cantico’, this not quite 40 yet blogger recalls turning on the radio, tuning into Tongy and hearing the sounds of a certain Underworld. The tribal percussion beats and rises as the synths spiral and spread like those laser patterns on the screens at festivals. You best get your boots on for this one cos’ you’re gonna get muddy!!!
Then there is ‘Notes of Desert’ to which this writer is currently wiggling his thighs to as he types, it’s hard not to!! The infectious loops of sound bring to mind Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and the mid-90s, 7 minutes of techno indulgence to dip back into obsessively!!!!

Kibosh – Back N Forth EP
Mr Spinforth of, Scour Records, has just come bursting through the doors of the ward with a great deal of excitement. Nope, it’s no lottery win but something far more important, new music which comes in the form of a 4 track EP from the man down under, Kibosh.
Aussie producer, Kibosh, is creator of music that encompasses all things Funk, Glitch Hop, Hip Hop, Breaks and lets not forget Bass, there’s plenty of that going around! Having already had releases on Adapted Records and Breakbeat Paradise, it’s now the turn of Scour Records to send our way his mighty and brass packed ‘Back N Forth‘ EP, that proves that he can kick it with the best of em!
The EP opens up with the Glitchy Swing belter ‘Monkey Bars‘, which will have you throwing shapes somewhere in the region of the Lindy Hop and bouncing around like a nutter. It won’t be pretty but it’ll be a whole lotta fun! The title track of the EP ‘Back N Forth‘ is another tune that kicks very hard and features the crisp lyrical flow of, Imagine This, and a vocal cut that will be most recognisable to most from Freestylers ‘Push Up’.
‘Dustin Diamond‘ is the next party rocker that sees Kibosh dip into the Disco dish with a dash of Deee-Lite sprinkled amongst those oh so phat beats. The final track of the EP ‘Infamous‘ samples the late great, David Bowie, and once again the beats and bass are supercharged to make this a sure-fire floor filler. We’re very much looking forward to hearing more in the future from Kibosh and as always, Scour Records too. Party on folks!

Flex continues to reach into the future with the finest DnB. This time it’s XTM with the ‘Redemption EP’
XTM makes DnB their own way and it’s a great style as demonstrated by the 4 tracks on the ‘Redemption EP’, a forward thinking from Chicago to Detroit with ha;f time beats and claps, ambient mysticism and enthralling brilliance. Clearly influenced by the great haymakers of the techstep boom circa 200o, XTM takes the sound forward for 2017 in exemplary fashion

Chilled and lush Future Bass from Monoman on their ‘Cross The Void EP’ for Horizon Recordings
Title track ‘Cross The Void’ revisits and redifines the Dubstep sound for a future generation. ‘Whoah!’ plays all kinds of clever technical tricks and resonates firmly in its kicks. ‘Sunny’ Ft Alex Moura is a smouldering heatwave of brilliant bluesy vocals, Pink Floydian eclectism and space age soul.

Tolstoi, Andsan – Surfside EP
http://classic.beatport.com/release/surfside-ep/1994957
Tolstoi & Andsan ride in on a wave with the beach themed ‘Surfside EP’
‘Surfside Groove’ sways with serious oldskool House swagger while Mr Jefferson lets the 303 loose with a pleasingly pounding refix
‘Road House’ is a deeper number for warming up the crowd taken even deeper by Ben Jones
‘Down The Pier’ sounds its namesake, a cowbells and squelchy synths symphony of hedonistic fun and frolics. To complete this excellent package, Neil Parkes turns in a tasty n’ twisty Techno refix of ‘Down The Pier’, surfs up!!!
