‘Lowering The Tone’ is one podcast we always look forward to seeing pop up when looking for new music. Meat Katie delivers a guaranteed hour incredible music and an hour interview, which always ends up as an open and general chat about anything and everything. For this most recent podcast though, the one hour mix comes in two halves with a thirty minute exclusive mix each from Meat Katie and Ben Coda. They both take us on a twisted journey into Techno, Tech Funk, Tech House and Acid Breaks with an outstanding selection of tracks. It’s one hour of music you really need in your lives!

There’s also a slight change to the interview/chat this time around as Meat Katie and Ben discuss the reasons behind LOT49 sadly shutting up shop and what the future holds in store for them both as they team up to take ‘Lowering The Tone’ forward. As you’ll hear in the chat, exciting times are on the horizon. The massive hole LOT49 left in our lives looks like it could, in time, be filled with more amazing music and podcasts. We thought it was time we caught up on all the music goings on with Punks Music, and after a checkup we’ve found another hugely impressive selection of free tracks, free mixes, music to buy and a future release. Next up are the two most recent ‘Punkscast’ mixes from Punks Music. Freerange DJs deliver a Bass n Breaks mix of the highest order that’s on it from the off and continues at a heavy pace throughout, with plenty of moments that are bound to make you lose control. Jay Robinson‘s mix begins on a summery note with a Garage and Funky House vibe leading the way, but as we all know, there’s always a storm or two in the summer and when the clouds build in this mix around the halfway point, the bass rains down hard. Flowstate make their debut on Punks with their track ‘Voodoo’. It’s a track with a title that gives it away as this is full of the darkest black magic out there. It’s hypnotic, deep vibe will have ravers lost in the stomp and loving every second of it!

The identity of Outlord is currently unknown, but one thing we do know and that is that the music that him/her/they make is rather damn good! Here are two classic 808 ragga re-rubs of ‘Way In My Brain’ by, SL2 and ‘Rockin Down Tha house’ by, MI 7, from Outlord, that will have new and old skoolers uniting as one on the dance floor!

American duo, Lou E. Bagels and Winnebago have combined their skills and love of old skool grooves to deliver this remix that’s dripping with Funk. The Temptations ‘Rollin’ Stone’ is the focus of the guys work and the sparkling soulful House makeover they’ve given it has lifted up the tempo considerably meaning it’s now perfect to to shake your thang too. Due to other music commitments, the Hong Kong Ping Pong guys don’t find many opportunities to drop one of their now legendary mixtapes, but when they do it’s really time to sit up and take notice! As long time fans of HKPP will know and as it clearly states, this is a mixtape, so if this is our first time checking out these get ready to be taken on genre hoping magic carpet ride.
