After falling in love with House music back in the late 80’s, Phil Maher decided to take up DJ’ing and had a little dabble on the production side of things in the early 90’s. He was soon invited to play at several raves and warehouse parties around that time but after that scene died down, Phil’s hunger to learn more about music really started to take hold, so he took break from DJ’ing to immerse himself fully in the music. As well as mastering various instruments he also learnt about music theory went on to university to study music technology.

After all the learning, Phil is now back in the game but this time his focused more towards producing rather than DJ’ing, although you can still find him playing out from time to time. His sound is one that is built using modern techniques but is always sweetly scented with the essence of the 90’s. Whether it’s a vocal, piano or strings, that old skool vibe will have the goosebumps alive and you can get a piece of that very action from his new track ‘Forever’, which also comes with three equally stunning remixes from FatFly, Secret Sinz and Wayne Dudley.

If you’ve ever wondered what the dark and sweaty underground clubs of Brazil sound like, here’s a couple of tracks from, Hotte‘s ‘Heart Questions’ EP, that’ll give you the perfect answer. Both tracks have immense depth and drive and are the kind that can quite easily bend your mind. Give em a listen and lose yourselves for about 15 minutes. I did and it was amazing! Hot on the heels of his recent EP ‘Indigo Skyfold‘ with Ewan Hoozami, Dopedemand is back with another free track for us to all enjoy with this remix of the very aptly named ‘The Rain’ by, Kitten & The Hip. The original is full on Drum n Bass fireball with a Swing influence and Dopedemand’s remix continues with the D n B theme, but the fireball has now been brought under control and extinguished somewhat by his much cooler Liquid D n B remix. Despite the title, this remix will most definitely bring light to your life.

After recovering from a badly broken wrist, Young Pulse is back in the driving seat and is back delivering ‘A game’ tuneage. His latest piece of work is this fully funk’d rework of The Commodores ‘Brick House’. He’s a producer who has a massive love for 70’s and 80’s music, particularly that with plenty of Funk and Soul built in. After hearing how other producers were beefing up old tracks for today’s dance floors, he took to that very task himself back in 2011 and has since gone on to release a number of very impressive tracks, much like his most recent edit of an old track by, The Joneses, that really is packed full of summer grooves.

Duskope is a producer from Canada that takes influences from UK Garage, Tech House and Bass House and combines them to create music that will undoubtedly see dance floors fill wherever his tracks get spun.
