Blane Read ‘To The Beat EP’ due out 19/12/16 on Plus Recordings features two potent Tech House weapons aimed unwaveringly at the dancefloor

Blane Read has released on Simma Black, Madtech & Audio Rehab among others. Fans of those top labels will lap up both the title track and ‘The Funk’.

The latter title track is a full on pounding Tech House banger with a tough underground feel. A mixture of Hip Hop & Garage vox build up the atmosphere before introducing a deep funky bassline and a variety of buzzing stabs.

‘The Funk’ is for those moments either earlier or deeper in the night. A strong influence of the likes of Keri Chandler can be heard in the style of keys and beats. A spiritual spoken word sample enhances the formidable mood of this deep groove. DJs should make sure they come armed with these excellent tracks.

Have we got a mix for you to liven up your lives on advent day #15! The mix in question comes from Estonia’s queen of Breakbeat, Miss Mants. She has dropped plenty of top grade dance floor grenades throughout this year and if you have missed any of them, fear not, because many of them can be found in this full on 60 minutes of broken beat heaven, along with a few of her older tines that kick just as hard. Ambient pads collide effortlessly with crisp drums interspersed with half-time beats. The time stretched ‘Can I Get An Amen’ vocal announces the arrival of dexterously cut up amen breaks, classic jungle subs and mentasm riffs. Morgan Spiced gets in on the remix action with some haunting 93/94 Jungle riffage and filtered amens.

Josh Butler presents vol 2 of ‘Heroes of House’ on his ORIGINS featuring collabs with Todd Terry & Darius Syrossian
