Sevarge makes the transition from veteran DJ to producer, teaming up with 24K for debut release ‘Hold You’ on Hedonistic Records. Its big room Techno with a melodic hook and oldskool credentials all the way here and we can’t get enough. The main drop is made for the lasers, a heated cauldron of atmospheric synths with the ‘wanna hold you’ vocal refrain and subtle Euro/Scottish Rave/Techno stabs. This epic stomp hits all the right buttons but you would expect that with the experience and passion shared by this duo. We know there is much more to come from Sevarge and this first foray into the world of house music production is a bold statement that justifiably carries itself with pride. Last year, Second Hand Audio released their huge Funk/Hip Hop album ‘Extended Play‘, which saw them sample music from a number of their favourite artists. Now in 2017, they’ve had all of the tracks off that album remixed by some of those very artists and with names like Slynk, WBBL, Crash Party, D.End, Young Einstein, Kid Stretch, B-Side, Tonic, Featurecast and DJP (one half of Second Hand Audio) all chipping in with a remix each, the music on offer is on a colossal scale.

As well as there being plenty of Funk n Bass, the Hip Hop element still remains a major factor and you can expect to hear slick rhymes from the likes of Psycho Les, Natty, Too Many T’s, Dizzy Dustin, Jazzarae and Akil The MC. This glittering Disco rework of ‘Is It Love You’re After’ by, Rose Royce, comes from the highly productive and always reliable, SanFranDisko. The original he’s reworked from Rose Royce, is a tune that’ll be familiar to so many, just in a different guise. The most recognisable of these guises will be when S-Express sampled it for their track ‘Theme From S-Express’. The Disco original however, has now been re-energised by SanFranDisko, so that it now powers the smiles and the good times across dance floors once again.
