As well as keeping himself busy with his incredibly popular label Simma Black all year, Birmingham based, Low Steppa, has still found time to release a whole stack of original and reworked music of his own. Several of his reworked tunes have come in the shape of edits of some all to familiar dance classics and these two posted here slip into that category perfectly.

First up is his extra solid edit of ‘Playin With Knives’ by, Bizarre Inc, that’s an absolute brute and packs a real hit on the bass front. His edit of Tensnake‘s take on ‘Coma Cat’ has a much more darker feel with a deep funky groove to it, while still kickin’ pretty hard. This pair will get those New Years parties bouncin’, no doubt about it!

After only discovering him late on this year, Mazesoundz is someone we’ll definitely be keeping tuned into in 2017. He’s a producer who likes to experiment with different genres but has a huge taste for Funk, which can be best experienced by checking out his new remix Juggy‘s rare groove tune ‘Oily’. This is a jam that’ll spread good vibes only across the dance floor and lets face it, who doesn’t love a bit of that!

Swing Set Sounds is a label that’s all about spreading positive vibes and as they’ve now cracked 2000 followers on Soundcloud, they’re giving away 2 free tracks to say thanks for the support they’ve received and keep that positivity flowing. They’ve plucked the extra squelchy Glitch Hop tune ‘Cuppa Yerbs’ by, JPOD, from their summer album ‘Swing Set Sounds – Artist Compilation Vol 1‘ and they’ve invited along new comer, Grid Division and Groove Mind to put their spin on the original.

Grid Division goes in smooth with a liquid Glitch feel while Groove Mind brings a mighty Ghetto Funk kick to his remix. Both are well worthy of a place in your collection, as is the original and you can find links to them all below. Bring a high level of heaviness to your parties and go get em!

Pre-Order Here out 30/12/16

Yoshitoshi present 17 tracks and a continuous mix featuring some incredible House & Techno from the likes of Sharam, Anthony Attalla, Sinisa Tamamovic plus more. The Best of 2016

Sharam features with a number of tracks on Yoshitoshi: Best of 2016. Tracks such as the atmospheric 80’s influenced House music of ‘Arpi’, the off the wall Tech House of ‘Techi’, and dark robotics of ‘Octodub’

On an album full of high-class material (and a prestige label for those who know, think Alcatraz & Eddie Amador circa mid 90s), it’s tricky picking out just a few tracks to mention. Each of the 17 tracks here are a must. We particularly love  Andy Caldwell & Adam Johan’s ‘Hold You’, a throwback to the frantic diva vox of 90’s glam house set to wall liquifying synths and beats.

Anthony Atalla ‘F1′ is another personal pick of ours from this fantastic retrospective. We love the snappy beats and catchy hooks and refrains reminding us of the likes of Apollo 84

The album progresses nicely from Deep/Tech House gems aplenty to out and out hip grinding bass loaded Techno bangers. If for any reason you missed these quality tracks up until now, here they are in one deadly good package, no more excuses!!! Pick this up right now!!

Brighton DJ/Promoter Magnus Asberg joins Bogota Records with Tom Gillieron, Schmoov!, & Renate for multicoloured House/Techno action in the form of ‘Awaked Future’

Magnus Asberg’s original ‘Awaked Future’  revisits the late 80’s House sound with a subtle ambience, jackin’ beats and upbeat albeit edgy synths

Tom Gillieron toughens up the original for a stomping warehouse warmer with distorted air raid style FX

The Acid 303 has a Trax Records feel, fast, stripped back and hypnotising in the most brilliant way

Schmoov! goes for a more soulful take on the original with warm bass keys, uptempo beats, drifting vocals, one for the beach!!!

The Club version dances a clever line between dark off-kilter and melodic soul.

‘Our Future’ is a dark, dystopian Deep House dream of hushed warnings and tense percussion, a warning shot to close the EP
