I’ve listened to tons of remixes of classic dance tunes since I joined LSM and there never seems to be any middle ground with them. They’re either not to my taste at all and shouldn’t have been remixed that way, or they’re so damn good that I have to continually gorge myself on them.

It shouldn’t be to hard to work out how this remix of Underworld‘s ‘Born Slippy’ by UK producer, Norff, sits with me as I’m blogging it, but I can assure you that I have gorged myself silly on this one. Norff’s Techno twist bangs hard but carries a real cosmic force that takes you up, up and away and if you think you can’t get any higher, wait till the hit the breakdown, chills down the spine business. I highly recommend you take a listen.

24K & Sevarge join 18 09 Records with ‘We Make Sound’, they are in excellent company too thanks to a remix by Fake Self

The original is a swirling melodic Techno track with shades of Drumcode and Alan Fitzpatrick. Looped chords and riveting atmospherics really make this track work a treat. For the Tech House fans, Fake Self gives ‘We Make Sound’ a tough big room overhaul taking the darker elements of the original and bringing them firmly in front place.

I’m not quite sure how I’ve managed to miss the incredible music made by Greek producer, George Kelly, especially as his music is heavily flavoured with Funk and Disco of the midtempo variety. His 3 track EP ‘Satisfaction Express‘ was my first encounter with the sounds he produces and this funk train satisfies on every single level! For the discerning funk lover, these 3 funk weapons are absolute must haves!

George doesn’t just spend his time making top quality tunes as he runs two labels, Chopshop Music and Our Records, that are both stacked with a bountiful supply of Funk and Disco tunes. As well as his new EP to check out, have a listen to his new mix that was recorded for, Gouranga. Classy Disco all the way.
