Chillhop is something that’ll no doubt get the genre police rolling their eyes, but on further inspection from our end, it’s a sub-genre that keeps on providing some of the most blissful sounds around. Case in point, this stunning EP from American producer, Bonus Points.

‘Warmer Winds’ is the title of the new EP and once you get it playing, you’ll soon see how apt that title is. 7 tracks that use incredibly easy going Hip-Hop beats as a foundation, that then have laid over them, a plethora of velvety smooth instrumental sounds. Horns, flutes, guitars, violins, the list goes on of elements added to make these tracks shine so bright and give them a low slung funky feel. It’s an EP you need if you want help lifting the weight of the world off your shoulders.

The Australian duo, YARDS, have been featured here on the ward a couple of times before and nearly bent our minds with the insane levels of bass they brought with them. For their latest track ‘Cave Men’ however, things are a little less full on, but still just as intense. Gone is the real heavyweight bass and in it’s place, a crisper Tech House offering that still has the power to have you fidgeting in your seats till you can’t take no more. All that’s left to do then is dance, lets go!

It’s certainly sounding like, Lack Jemmon have got their summertime party heads on if this remix of ‘Move Your Body’ by, Basement Freaks is anything to go by. The original, a low slung funky groover, has now emerged as a full blown Disco House fireball and if you thought the beats and boogie was sounding sweet from the intro, wait till the vocal from, Mustafa Akbar drops in, amazing! Make you day, no, your life massively better by listening and then owning this little gem.

Cheshire, is currently trekking around Sri Lanka and India and although there’s plenty of sightseeing being done, he’s also out collecting samples of sounds and the instruments that part of the world has to offer.
