Back in the early noughties, there was a revival of the breakbeat hardcore sound. Spearheaded by the likes of Dave Skywalker, Stu & Nee, Vinyl Junkie and Bennie D among others this sound became known as Hardcore Breaks and preceded the Future Jungle sound of 2010-2015.

Duskope is a producer from Canada that takes influences from UK Garage, Tech House and Bass House and combines them to create music that will undoubtedly see dance floors fill wherever his tracks get spun. Evidence of this can be found in his two free tracks on his ‘Digital Enigma’ EP. A clear Garage presence can be found in both of these meaning they’ve got ‘summer sizzlers’ stamped all over them. Ladies and gents, get yourselves prepared for a heavy dose of the ‘feel good’ factor! Sending it all our way is Waggles and his very cool rework of Skeewiff‘s ‘Because I Love It’, which also features the superb vocal skills of, Imagine This. The original is an all singing, all dancing, horns blazing, chunk of Funk, but with Waggles take on it, things have mellowed a touch, but only because of the crisp Reggae vibe he’s added in. I’m sure many of us put things away in a safe place, only to then forget where that safe place is. Music producers seem to do that quite a bit too. They start a new track, stick it in a folder to finish it at a later date and it then gets swallowed deep into there computers only for it to be discovered on a random search looking for something else. That’s exactly what happened to Mr Rich and The Caretaker and their re-fix of ‘Stand Up’ by Ludacris. Luckily for us all they’ve found it, strapped it up and injected it full of Funk and are now very kindly giving it away for free and because of that, you have to say that today is a good day!

NM Recordings, the label from where Mind Of A Dragon‘s new EP ‘Crush’ has been released, have had a stack of requests from music fans asking how they can get hold of the title track off the EP by Mind Of A Dragon and the remix by Cellardore. So with the pressure mounting and the hunger growing, they’ve decided to release them for free and as an extra bonus, they’ve added in a remix from Doctor Nick.

Mind Of A Dragon’s track ‘Crush’ is pure crisp and sharp garage with a gorgeous female vocal and a bassline that rips in and out to provide the wobble. Cellardore gets proper filthy with his remix and bass reigns supreme, while Doctor Nick cools things with a lighter and slightly soulful feel to his remix. All three are smoking hot so why not grab them all.

It’s a very welcomed return to the ward to, Beat Assassins. This dude was first featured on LSM way before I joined the team, back when when he was making kickass Breaks. In the here and now though there has been a slight change to his sound since those days. There’s still plenty of ass kicking going down but now it’s of the Drum n Bass kind! ‘Ramm Out’ is his new free track that comes complete with a grime bassline straight outta East London and has the fire in it’s belly fueled by the firing vocal of SiFu Chan. It’s one very high class roller!

If that wasn’t enough for your senses to handle, along comes London based producer, D’Silva with an almighty remix. Now for those that don’t know D’Silva from his Pyramid days, this is a producer who does not muck about when it comes to making music. He to made Breaks back in the day and just like the D n B he makes now, it all has a raw edge and a massive amount of power and energy. It’s music that drives you wild!
