A couple of serious tech groovers from ALBT. The title track is just so well put together, Techno esque synths, boots to the floor beats and plenty of addictive sounds all skillfully blended in. ‘How Long’ goes deeper into US House/Garage territory a la Nervous, Strictly Rhythm et al, classy as classy can be!!!

Free Breaks Blog Premiere Stream Of Nuendo ‘Secrets’ (Michael Luke remix)

As soon as we heard Nuendo ‘Secrets’, we had to reach out to Lamont Dex at Ultra Bass Records who kindly let us premiere the sparkling 90’s House style remix by Michael Luke.

The original is a perfect showcase of where this label is right now. Crossing boundaries and closing the gap between those six degrees of separation. The track, the remixes, indeed the entire release has a whole person feel blending Garage US & UK with Deep/Tech House & Breaks.

And what about those remixes? When you have the likes of Adam Hyjek, Thorn, Lewis Low and of course, Michael Luke on board you have a truly pleasing package of quality urban dance music suitable for all. Get on board!!!

Nuendo- Secrets [Ultra Bass Records]

Jason Ard is a producer/remixer who works under several different aliases. It’s his, Old Flame, alias that’s caught our attention and as he’s a new name to us, we can report that he’s knows how to throw down the funkiest Big Beat!

For his most recent release he’s joined forces with someone who needs no introduction to LSM regulars, Mr Big Beat himself, Rory Hoy. The track the guys have come up with ‘So Daft’ pays homage to Daft Punk and is one Acid infused, Funk filled Big Beat banger! There’s no sitting still when this one takes off!

We’ve plucked out one of Spira Music‘s many classy House tracks with this one coming from, Ben Read and Jacque Saravante. Both guys make their own tunes but have teamed up on this free bootleg of ‘Freak Like Me’ by, Adina Howard. It’s a hot footed little groover with a healthy dose of nostalgia to boot. Swedish producer Garmiani has been bashing out the big room beats for a few years now, but this is probably his biggest release to date. On MC duties he’s got Walshy Fire, one third of Major Lazer, and that makes for a wicked blend of dancehall vocals and festival rave madness. It’s not a tune that’s going to be to everyone’s taste, but it will hit the spot for those big dancefloors and is one of the more original sounding main room house tracks around. It’s also Walshy Fire’s first ever vocal on a record, so big up to him for pushing himself in new ways!

Davide Mathmos aka, Davide Colombi, has been spinning, producing and remixing tunes since the early 80’s and once you checked his large back-catalogue of music he plays and makes, the knowledge and experience shines through. Disco is one several forte’s of his and his skills in that area have been put to great use in this rework of ‘Fantasy’ by, Earth Wind & Fire. Silky smooth grooves a plenty here and music to make you smile, you can’t get better than that.

Although Karl Sav has sadly retired from making music, he keeps dropping the odd previously unreleased bomb! Is it a sign his creative juices are beginning to flow again?
