With so many top releases to catch up on, here’s our second roundup for the weekend….
DJ Wislov’s imprint has provided many a modern Breakbeat Hardcore, NuRave & NuJungle classic, Here’s a selection of the best of them so far including artists like Nicky Allen, Rocksted E, Liam Taylor and more….
Bahnhof::Zoo-The Fire Of Our Souls
Another huge slice of cut up R&B, Hip Hop & Soul at 160BPM. 7 tracks of superior quality Juke/Footwork from the consistent and quality Good Street label
Tough Hip Hop flava’d Minimal House heaters straight outta Latin America!!!
Two labels going from strength to strength are Swerve Digital & Fxtion Records. Ben Read’s new EP on Fxtion is exceptional. 3 tracks, remixes from Lee Pearce & Jame Moorfield. Featuring A rich rolling title track with a catchy stab and penetrating bass. Jame Moorfield gives the original a tough twisted rework while Lee Pearce blends Techy elements with his great brand of deep jackin’ house. ‘That’s Right’ & ‘Box Cutter’ make for two perfect additions to the EP, both bumpin’ big peak time essentials!!!
Samurai Breaks makes an impressive deubt on Halogen Music. The stepping filtered breaks on ‘My Sound’ bring to mind the likes of Om Unit. ‘Run’ blends dancehall with slick reverse bass n beats, complex breaks and junglistic sounds, killer weapons!!!
We love a bit of techno and RAWL works up a Techno storm with a BIG remix from DJ Dextro on Portuguese imprint Tanira Records
Lenny Fontana Pres The Starletts ‘On His Mind’
Pure 90’s piano vocal house from Lenny Fontana with silky vocals from The Starletts, taking it back to the era of Degrees Of Motion & other gems. Exquisite
Nickodemus & Alsarah – The Crow EP
Hypnotic Middle Eastern Deep House & Electronica. iZem drops a mind expanding Footwork remix of ‘Alkoan Kulu Bidoor’ and Sagaan retouches the title track with powerful prog/deep house synths and off kilter beats
Drumsound & Bassline Smith – Shutdown
Kicking things off with a tense and electrifying intro, the DnB dons soon kick things into shape with rasping metallic synths and stuttering beats!!!
Tantrum Desire – Adventure Through Space VIP
Starting in epic fashion, Tantrum Desire man the starship Technique Recs and embark upon a speaker smashing Adventure Through Space…the VIP!!!!
Dean Chapple & James Daniels ‘Revolver EP’
acclaimed production Dean Chapple & James load the ‘Revolver’ for Swerve Digital. Pounding drums and a punchy atmosphere is the fuel for the excellent title track. cassim goes for an even tougher rework of ‘Revolver’ and we are further treated to additional weapons in the form of the trippy treat ‘Illusions’ and deliciously chunky groover ‘People Sin’
TOYC & ITOA-Bun The Grid
a real mixed package here from the psychedelic industrial techno of ‘Kicks’ to the 160BPM skank of ‘Snake Pass’. A tasty package topped off by remixes from Deft & Etch
