Jayphies-Groove has been super busy uploading a whole stack of amazing Funk, Soul and Disco edits/remixes to his Soundcloud page over the last few days. There has been so much that it’s been tricky to pick out a favourite as they’re all so damn good, but this spin on Average White Band‘s ‘Cut The Cake’ just shone that little bit brighter than the rest. It’s a horny affair with bags of drive that’ll see you up a moving to the groove with ease.

With a bumper bank holiday coming up this weekend, a visit to his Soundcloud page is a must as there’s loads of dance floor weapons to be found to spice up any upcoming parties!

Lee Jeffrey (UK)’s ‘Bitter Sweet EP’ is release No1 on a label you really need to know, a label known as Deja Vu Traxx that is releasing some of the best House & Tech House around right now

‘Bitter Sweet’ kicks things off with sharp stabs with ravey interludes. ‘Come Up’ is a deeper affair in true House music mode making good use of funky synths and cut up vox. ‘Get On’ is our absolute fave from a fine trio of tunes, lots of great drums (and drumrolls) and an excellent take on the currently popular raw house style influenced by the late 80s Hip House/Jackin’ House sound.

Back in 1976, Blacksmoke released their self titled album and kicking off the Funk spectacular that it is was ‘Gotta Bad Feeling‘. Paris based producer, Morlack, has a fondness for that particular tune and has decided to give it a makeover by adding in chunky broken beats, even more Funk and a whole lotta groove. You’re gonna have to have it and when you do have it, you’ll be extremely happy that you do have it, promise.

Wax Worx has been busy getting his head down in the studio of late and all his hard work is paying off big time and to bring some life to that statement, get a load of his new tune ‘Hey Mr DJ‘. The original by, Screen II, is one of his all time favourite tracks and he’s done the business with his re-cut. The energy levels are right up there and once you get it spinning, it’s gonna feel like a carnival is marching it’s way through your mind. Infectious stuff!

Daniel Rateuke is a German DJ/producer who has been spinning tunes since the tender age of 14. His love for groove laiden Tech House and thumping Techno beats knows no bounds and all that love can best be found in the music he makes, plays and releases on his own label,  Point House Records.

A fine example of Daniel’s love for thumping, twisted Techno, comes through loud and clear in his remix of Mighty Dub Katz ‘Magic Carpet Ride’. This gnarly piece of work will soon rid you of any lethargy that might just be hanging around due to the weekends excesses so get up, get lively and take that magic carpet ride.

We are very pleased to feature the premiere stream of Father Funk – Swagger Ft. Too Many Ts taken from new LP ‘Heavy Rotation’

‘Heavy Rotation’ is available now via iTunes, Spotify, Juno, Deezer, Beatport and all good digital stores.

Ghetto Funk DJ and producer Father Funk has today released his long-awaited debut album ‘Heavy Rotation’ on his favourite day of the year – 420 day! Not only is it his first full record but it is also the first release on his brand new label ‘Funk Therapy’. The new album is available now in all major digital stores across 270 countries.
After signing with legendary agency and former label Finger Lickin’, Father Funk quickly became one of the biggest names in Breakbeat and Ghetto Funk. Fresh off the back of two Canada tours earlier this year and the 1st anniversary of his own successful Bristol based night ‘Church of Love’, the father has cemented himself as one of the freshest tastemakers in the UK right now.
Taking huge inspiration from the disco and funk sounds of the 70’s and 80’s he has been writing music for over 10 years having released 5 EP’s and numerous singles across Sunday Best, Ghetto Funk, Adapted Records and Scour Records to name a few. His back catalogue includes remixes for the likes of Dub Pistols and Fort Knox Five including many bootleg remixes that have also amassed huge numbers on Soundcloud.
This debut record is the first full release that is completely original and free from his best-known sampling work. It captures the energy of the funk and soul golden years whilst combining it with modern dance music and disco culture, not sticking to one particular genre. With over 3 years in the making the father has been able to collaborate with some of the freshest names in the UK on this project; including London rap duo Too Many T’s, Ghetto Funk legends WBBL and Slynk, Canadian rap group Illvis Freshly and neo-soul singer Hilary Beckett.
Speaking on the new release Will Williamson aka Father Funk said:

I think the album is a bit of a lost art these days, and as someone who still very much enjoys listening to them, I wanted to bring back this mentality of writing songs as a collective artwork, not just as floor fillers or money makers. ‘Heavy Rotation’ is not just for dance floors but for front rooms, backyards and long journeys. I hope you enjoy it is as much as I enjoyed making it.

Hold on!!! Its Greco (NYC), Jay Robinson with their ‘To The Rhythm EP’ on Country Club Disco!!

The awesome title track to this EP personifies the perfect middle ground between Greco’s bumpin’ US house style and Jay Robinson’s cutting edge bass house sound

‘Mad Deep’ gets fast and tough from the get go with acidic stabs and dark garage rumblings. No messing right here, just straight up fire beats!!!

Flex Records present the sizeable talents of a one Opius with the ‘Ghost Rider E.P’

Opius cooks up some interesting and exciting DnB sounds on tracks like  ‘Big Ben’ sampling ‘Turn It Up’, a quirky roller in the style of Bizzy B/Dream Team productions from the golden age of Jungle/DnB.

‘Mr Crocodile’ continues the quirky samples and lethal breakbeats with a nod to Shy FX ‘Bambataa’

The title track is a ghastly blast of warped bass, spooky spoken words and barbarous bass

And speaking of bass, ‘Bass Playa’ is the closing track on this EP by Opius and it truly cuts like a rusty chainsaw, pain and pleasure combine in the ghoulish finale. We are very impressed by the sound of Opius, a real talent with a predilection for making killer DnB beats!!!

Strictly NuSkool Blog present a brand new free release from Monks & Mort, the ‘Kit Kat EP’

The ‘Kit Kat EP’ recreates the sound of three seminal years that marked the early rave scene and sound. First we have the Belgian techno influenced 91′ style then some Reinforced Records circa 92 style sounds before finishing with some frantic proto Happy Hardcore 93 style. It’s free, bangin’ and thoroughly authentic, have a breakbeat, have a kit kat!!!
