For tonight’s exclusive free downloads we have a big compilation from a very exciting new project from two established artists in the scene. Particle Zoo Recordings is the brainchild of Dave Remix and Ewan Hoozami and has been created to give both artists a ‘no holds barred’ avenue for their own musical creations. It won’t just be restricted to their own productions though, expect the family to grow far and wide with remixers and original music being drafted in soon.

Both Dave and Ewan are much respected artists with many years experience in the industry. With their two minds coming together to work on the label it is bound to bring nothing but great results and musical mayhem. With tracks and remixes out labels such as Pedigree Cuts, Tremendo, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Pig Balls and Radical Mixtape to name a few, you know the music they produce for their own labels is going to a step above!

So far you will find a variety of different incarnations of the two producers on the label including Box Rocket, STEGA and Fixed Point as well as their two solo guises . All of the above have featured on the free compilation they have put together to showcase the label. From Glitched up Hip-Hop to rinsing Drum n Bass, Midtempo Breaks to rolling Dubs, everything is featured here and gives a excellent glimpse on what to expect from the label over the coming year and beyond.

From the low end rumbles of the half steppin GTR, kicking things of in bass heavy style, on to Ewan’s lush and rolling D&B remix of his own track “Take You There”, to Box Rockets funk and bass workout “The Way”, to Stega’s 8 bit glitch-fest “Could You Be Mine”, to the big breaks banging sounds of Fixed Point’s “Rise”, there really is something for every discerning DJ out there. Each of these fine tracks represent a musical journey through a plethora of emotions, feelings and experiences, ‘Start It’ is dark and funky at the same time with some nice MC vocal snippets appearing in the mix here and there, the beats bounce menacingly on the title track ‘Shadows’ featuring layers of dark pads and FX, ‘Eternally’ is an incredible combo of Tech/Neuro and Liquid, sweet pianos and vocals sit side by side with twisted bass and beats, ‘Overstand’ gets busy with complex drums and minimalist sounds and ‘Anything’ closes things nicely with a classic DnB style intro before getting into some nice drone bass action, this is an absolutely must have EP for those who like their DnB cutting edge with high production values.
