Balanced Records, Winnipeg’s multi-genre electronic label celebrates its 13th birthday this weekend. The party is tomorrow (Saturday, May 10) at the Fox and Fiddle.

For over a decade the family and crew at Balanced have a huge swath of releases, ranging from house, downtempo, dub, to broken beat. SEED ORGANIZATION returns from Montreal for a special performance, showcasing his penchant for the low end frequencies of dub. Label co-founders KASM (Adam Hannibal) and SOLIDAZE (Luis Cardona) round out the night along side REDWORM.

BLUNT FORCE just dropped his remix of WARP9‘s electro-swing track “It Ain’t Right.” Blunt Force adds a more hip-hop, electro-soul vibe, and even though he left the signature horn line untouched, the feel of the track has completely changed. If you enjoyed the original, or are a fan of artists like Pretty Lights or Gramatik, you’ll enjoy this track.

After scooping 2 awards at this years Breakspoll, one for best remix and the other a deserved outstanding contribution award Deekline is back to business and delivering a free download for your pleasure. Here he takes UK Grime legend Jammer’s track Declined, gives it a twist, a flick of the wrist and turns it in to a Bass banger with a hint of old skool UK Garage. Go get it, it’s all yours!

London based Lena Cullen is a songwriter, multi instrumentalist and singer with the voice of an angel! Lena has performed live tracks of her upcoming solo debut album at Fabric and has also performed at Glastonbury, Glade and within the legendary walls of the BBC  Maida Vale Studios. Before heading along the solo path Lena formed a close working relationship with 2013 best new dj / producer Maya Jane Cole. Artists she is currently working with on her upcoming debut solo album include Shadow Child, Andrea, Delta Heavy and Cutline. A mention also has to go out to incredible Breakbeat banger Lena did with the Pyramid boys called Lost In You, one to look up if you don’t know. A personal favourite of mine!

The track posted is a gorgeous blend of Lena’s familar Bass style and some smooth House. Add to that her stunning vocals and you have a track that not only melts hearts but minds too. This is one lady to keep an eye on for the future!

Rory Hoy is no stranger to the LSM ward and this time he pops in with a remix of one of his favourite Hip-Hop tracks ever, N.A.S – The World Is Yours. The album Illmatic by N.A.S is 20 years old this year and Rory thought what better way to celebrate this by remixing this track and giving it away for free. Enjoy!
