This weeks classic Throw Back mix is from none other than the Plump DJ’s. Now I was going to post the awesome Elastic Breaks mix they did for Mixmag but I’m sure everyone has heard that a million times (quite rightly so). I wanted to dig a little deeper and this mix was one of two I found that I feel show the duo at their best. Throwing down classic Plump material alongside lesser known bootlegs, garage, break-step, tearout and house they meld all the different flavours of breakbeat into an hour long mix of titanic proportions. This is one that needs to be played at high volume!

As a new label, Love & Other is off to the races and winning all bets. The two releases under their belts thus far have them in pole position for best new label of 2014 and it doesn’t look like the imprint will experience any fatigue in the coming future. This four-track sampler for example is so good, it’s dumb. The five tracks range from house to techno (but definitely leans towards the bassy side of house) and has me shaking my head in disbelief. I don’t have to much info on DJ Suso. I can tell you he is Spanish and that he likes to make some massive sounding Breakbeat tracks and remixes. The evidence is clear to hear in this remix of The Prodigy’s – Omen. It’s fierce, it’s fiery and it loses none of it’s intensity. Hold on tight!

Funk expert Bobby C Sound TV is back again with his last remix for a little while as he heads into his studio to concentrate on making a new album and new sample pack. Here he takes Ohio Players – Love Rollercoaster and gives it the Laser Funk treatment. Already a top party jam Bobby adds his personnel touch of flair and flavour which makes this a perfect party stomper for 2014!

Dreadsquad are up to big things lately.. and the Video for their latest track “Boom Sound” featuring Kojo Neatness has just gone up on youtube.
