What we have here for this weeks Throwback Thursday is some full on rock vocals from Nine Inch Nails, added together with some of the most full on breakbeats that’s been heard this side of the 20th century and it comes from the superb musical mind of Refracture. Paul Dobson aka Refracture has fast become a formidable force in the world of all things Breaks and Bass with his own unique powerhouse sound. He finds himself signed to Perfecto Records and has been given high praise for his musical exploits from the likes of Elite Force, Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method and Beatman and Ludmilla to name a few.

To get this free download head over to Refracture’s Facebook page HERE and give him a like and get your copy now. When you arrive there you will also see a list of other excellent remixes of artists like Deadmau5, The Pixies, The Beatles, Underworld and several tracks from himself.

One more day to go ladies and gents and it’s time to slip on those dancing shoes. Rave safe!

TIEKS, aka Mark Tieku, has been bubbling up in the past few months on with remixes for Rudimental and Jess Glynn as well as appearing on the Monki And Friends EP. A show on Rinse FM has also boosted his rise within the UK and global scenes. The fact that Canadian techno stalward TIGA has remixed his latest single isn’t hurting anything either. Here’s the track in question – a pulsating journey into pulsating grooves and subtle African rhythms. Watch for it to drop on October 19. Let’s go!

The original is just as tidy. Check it.

Following the release of a string of successful remixes and originals throughout the summer on Moonchild, Stripped Recordings, Clinique Recordings and Sudbeat Music, DALE MIDDLETON ushers us into the Autumn with his latest project ‘Tord’. The EP is

due for release on November 1st.

Delivering a fusion of interpretations on the deeper, underground sounds of house and techno; Dale’s new project ‘Tord’ features a stunning original production from the man himself, accompanied by chopped-up re-imaginings from Chloe Fontaine, Dave Seaman, Lee Williams and D-Formation.

Dale’s original cut of ‘Tord’ gathers momentum as it progresses. Flowing from mellow loops, ticking drum work and bubbling melodics, the track itself is warm and subtle.

DAVE SEAMAN takes control of the engine in his chugging rework, smashing out bigger kicks and rumbling bass elements. Seaman keeps things characteristically underground and dark throughout.

Maintaining the underground vibe, CHLOE FONTAINE brings a fresh and flirty flavour to her remix. Hammering out a wide range of tribal percussion, she harnesses the warmth of the original for an upbeat and floral tribute to the end of summer.

If you’re after a remix with more of a progressive feel, the D-FORMATION remix will do you no harm. Some menacing undertones are drawn out with a shuffling kick drum and warbling sub bass, balanced alongside ethereal vocals and gently swelling strings.

Last but not least, is the ever so minimal remix from Bournemouth-based LEE WILLIAMS. Harnessing the full power of subtly he straddles the sparse edges of techno with eerie mechanics and industrial sonics.

If I was to nominate a best new label of 2014, it would be Switchblade Digital, all 12 releases from the label including this one here are essentials for your collection, the label ethos is old skool darkside hardcore and jungle often touching on more experimental and deep sounds too. Fringe makes his label debut after a couple of masterpieces on Kode 5, ‘He’s Nuts’ is the Canadian junglist and producer par excellence at his very darkest and finest, if you’re an old skooler and fondly remember the early works of producers like Trace, Ed Rush, Doc Scott & other darkside legends, you will fully appreciate the menacing atmosphere of ‘He’s Nuts’, ghoulish pads and spliced  rolling amens that would have Darth Vader himself one foot skanking, essential jungle!!!
