Sam Starion is a new name breaking onto the dance music scene and he hits us with this volcanic track, Fat Lava. We’ve got funky stabs and a real Big Beat flavour and a sound that is reminiscent of old skool Fatboy Slim. It’s absolutely massive!

The track has just been released on the Hungarian label MustBeat who themselves are in their infancy but have managed to put out 20 releases to date with Bass and Funk at their hearts. They must be overjoyed with their latest signing and can’t wait, like us here at LSM to see what more treats Sam Starion has up his sleeve for us all.

Wilkinson is back with a brand new single – Dirty Love featuring Talay Riley

Wilkinson has successfully put Drum & Bass back on the map as a genre not to be reckoned with, and with Katy B, Naughty Boy, Wretch 32 and Angel Haze collaborations in place, it is no wonder everyone is talking about this multi talented producer and DJ. With Top 10 smash single Afterglow reaching 20 million views online, and top 25 charting Half Light making a huge impression on the festival masses, its not surprising next single Dirty Love already has people excited.

Flying the flag for British Drum & Bass, Wilkinson will showcase Dirty Love as well as Lazers Not Included over a series of massive back to back shows across Europe including huge festival appearances at Reading and Leeds, Global Gathering, SW4 and Creamfields. More recently, he drew thousands of revelers to his sets at Wireless, Glastonbury and at Amnesia in Ibiza.

There are no limits to what Wilkinson, from South West London, can do and with Dirty Love he will continue to trouble the charts and the airwaves, while blowing up the clubs and festivals.

A downtempo blend of chillout tracks in a Flume / Kaytranada style that I can't stop listening to at the moment.

A bit different to my usual funky style but wanted to put this together now the summer is over and the seasons are changing...

Black Butter Records continue to showcase their breadth with the debut EP from WAYWARD. Once again the label proves they are equally capable of exploring the cavernous depths of bass music, and equally comfortable serving luscious, soulful jams.

The London, by way of Leeds duo best known as Wayward, smoothly shuffled their way through the UK house scene, appropriately making their way to the front of the pack with their deep and sultry production. Their latest effort saw the pair in the studio for the last few months recording and experimenting with some new approaches, including the incorporation of live horn sections. But the drums, oh the drums, are key, especially with the EP’s opening track Baile which features broken rhythms as smooth as satin sheets. Grab it from beatport or iTunes.

The entire six track release is a testament to the funky and soulful nature of house music, suitable for both the dance floor and the bedroom.

To celebrate the release of their eagerly awaited new single Say What Again, newcomers What! are giving away this cheeky little Electro House number which is a full on ‘hands in the air’ dancefloor destroyer.

‘What’ is a collaboration project between breaks stalwart Si Kouncilhouse and new producer Marley. When the two met, Marley inspired Si to explore a new sound in Bass Music and ‘What’ was born.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock then you’ve probably heard their latest track ‘Say What Again’ which has been receiving support from heavyweights such as Stanton Warriors, The Freestylers, 2 Bad Mice, JFB, Mafia Kiss, Dub Pistols & King Yoof and has also seen regular airplay on Radio 1 from Annie Nightingale & XFM from Eddie Temple-Morris.

Meet Glass Slipper – a house music project started by Austin residents Lisa Cork-Twiss and BradElectro. Their motto – ‘If the shoe fits, dance in it!  This 1968 Creedence Clearwater Revival (who look a little like they should be in anchorman!) rework was born out of a funky Sunday studio session and so this groovy mother was born!

Let it all hang out with a bit of funk to brighten up your Tuesday! Hailing from Santiago, Chile,  Bruno Borlone & Boogie Mike have taken the original and changed it into an arrangement that is a little more dancefloor friendly. One for all you nu-funk fans out there … “Brick House” is originally a song from the Commodores released in 1977.
