This track is called “The People” and it features the legendary Chuck D from Public Enemy. You can download it for free at our website goo.gl/9DWGVZ.

The idea for the song came from a couple of samples, and the track’s vibe is earnest and has a pressing tone to it. The lyrics are commentaries of our struggles and successes, our weaknesses and strengths… the experiences… and trials and tribulations we have faced as human beings, a race, and as individuals. Lyrically Chuck brings a sense of authority and urgency. The power in his voice demands your attention. With Chuck on the track this is a dream come true for us.

Here we have a mix that was 3 years in the making. The team from Robot Heart had a dream, a dream of getting Rob Garza from Thievery Corporation to play at there camp at burning man and after a lot of hard work and determination the dream finally came true. The set was unannounced to the surprise and joy of thousands of burners and now we all get to share what sounds to have been a very special experience. A perfect collection of tunes to chill to on a hazy late Autumn Sunday.

With a new album on the way in March 2015, Fort Know Five step up the game with a new FREE tune to download from the album.

Fort Knox Recordings presents Ready Go Feat. Raashan Ahmad by Fort Knox Five.

Remixes from Neighbour and Slynk and full instrumentals drop exclusively on Beatport on December 2nd, 2014.

Raashan Ahmad’s high-energy party rocking lyrics are the perfect match for Fort Knox Five’s distinctive funk stylings. The lyric “I live for the funk, I die for the funk, from the days of the Humpty Hump to the future” sums up this tune perfectly as it blends retro g-funk vibes from the West Coast with electronic dancefloor funk from the Nation’s Capital. True to form, Fort Knox Five incorporate horns and funky guitar lines throughout, so that “Ready Go” emerges as a disco-funk dance floor jam.
