Hungarian twin brothers, Dublic make music to make you dance, it’s as simple as that! They work in and around a varied selection of genres but they always put feet on the dancefloor. They have seen support of their music from the likes of Lady Waks, Stanton Warriors, Dj Icey, Dub Pistols and coincidently Krafty Kuts. The brothers have given quite a fiery Electro Breaks re-rub to a remix of Krafty’s ‘Shake Them Hips ‘ which provides some real rib shaking bass. The original was a dancefloor hit and this carries all the same hall marks. Quality tuneage!

New Drum n Bass From Emerging Talent

Sinprint

Drop 2 Slabs of Dnb

Dancefloor Mayhem

Out now on Sigma's Record Label Life Recordings

Buy on Beatport: http://tinyurl.com/lhlfhoj

Buy on iTunes: http://hyperurl.co/SinprintLFR009

There's always a fresh crop of new production talent emerging in drum & bass year on year. Despite working with established names such as Bladerunner and Break in 2014, the team at Life Recordings are also dedicated to giving burgeoning beat makers a platform to shine and have done just that on their latest release.

Hailing from out of the South West of England is Max Stevens and Lee Williams, known collectively as Sinprint. Having sent demos to Sigma under their previous guise of Submental, the chart toppers were impressed with what they heard, moving swiftly to get the pair onboard and are, more excitingly, Life Recordings first exclusive signing to the label. While they maybe new to scene they're certainly not newcomers to the game, with many years DJ'ing experience behind them at huge festivals such as Run To The Sun and NASS. They've also had major radio play courtesy of Crissy Criss at 1Xtra playing some of their early material. Sinprint's hard work and dedication has paid off and are now ready to prove what they can do and deliver the first fruits of their labours.

Kicking things off is The Distance, an unadulterated and unapologetic dancefloor banger which is destined for main time DJ sets. The atmospheric sci-fi nature of the intro eases you in before the build rises and drops into a gnarled, bass ridden beast of a tune. Watch for the cowbell too. On the other hand Hyperlink pulls you in a slightly deeper direction. Lashings of tech funk lay at Hyperlink's core; deep subs and catching riffs

Our second Reverbnation winner was Russian based breaker The Reptiles. Already with several releases under his belt on labels such as Subtribe, Elektroshok and Breakz R Boss, The Reptiles (aka Kirill Skotnikov) is a promising young producer with a unique take on the breaks and beats sound.

His winning track  ‘Get It Played’, is a roughed up ride through big beat, breaks and low end with a serious nod towards the electro punk ethos of The Prodigy. After hearing the filthy distorted guitars on the intro we knew we had something special on our hands. Speaker busting beats, screeching synths and a real sense of the big beat  era. It was really refreshing to hear something that hinted on a sound from years back but with a fresh new approach and ignoring the current ‘in sound’ to create a completely unique slice of dance music

We drafted in booty breaks & bass masters The Beatslappaz on remix duties who served up some delicious bass frequencies for your ears. Stripping the track back completely they rework the vocal around  a steppy break with warping sub bass and a chirpy synth melody. This is right up there with their latest sound, delving deep into the bass and breaks sound being championed by the Stanton Warriors, Mafia Kiss etc. Speaking of the Stanton’s keep ‘em peeled for The Beatslappaz remix competition winning version of Marten Horger’s ‘Oh Girl’ which is soon to be released on their label Punks! For all things Beatslappaz, hit up their Soundcloud.

JOE SILVA is truly a Winnipeg icon of house and techno. He’s been in the game for a couple of decades, both as a producer and dj. I’ve had the honour of hosting a few residencies with him and witnessing his prowess behind the decks is something magical. His live performances however, are breathtaking. At times, he’s incorporated live drumming, on top of running loops and twiddling enough knobs to make a pilot nervous.

In anticipation of the upcoming release of his second album, Memory Fade, Joe’s unleashed a free download from the long player, a lush jam that has house music written all over it. From the buoyant keys and smooth vocals, to the deep and driving kicks, “Sanctuary” is a track that will keep the toes tapping.

All the Memory Fade tracks first made their appearances in Joe’s live sets where he arms himself with drum machine, sampler, synth and effects. Watch for it to drop on his label, Purespace Recordings, in January 2015.

Watch for a live performance from Joe at the Symptom Technologies 18th anniversary party on December 12. Symptom Tech is Winnipeg’s longest-running underground crew who throw the city’s best house and techno events. The party also features locals, Shael, Justin Kace, Lotek, and Rick Logic. Full details can be found here.
