Cianna Blaze shares her top 5 rappers of all time with Free Breaks Blog. You can check out her latest release ‘On Fire’ including a Mob Tactics remix below and buy it here http://bit.ly/2glg8dD

1. Busta Rhymes – I love Busta because lyrically and flow wise he is just crazy. I saw him live recently in London and he absolutely smashed it. Always brings the fire flow.

2. Eminem – Eminem for me is such a unique rapper, He just murders every song effortlessly. I love how extensive his vocabulary is and his conviction and emotion is raw.

3. Andre 3000 – Andre is the ultimate storyteller with lyrics. I love how he takes you on a journey with his lyrics and his flow is really different.

4. Missy Elliott – Missy just has so much swag and style both physically and with her lyrics. She really stands out to me especially as a female rapper she has so much presence.

5. Immortal technique – he is such a powerful lyricist,
amazing storyteller and really makes you think with what he talks about. The Bush Administration was a sick album.

Shaka Loves You have been lighting up festival fields all over the place this summer. I managed to catch them at a festival quite local to me, Green Meadows, and I can tell you first hand that the guys were in fine form, with Jamie providing the sublime Disco sounds and Marty dishing out the summery vibes with the live percussion element of their on stage performance. I danced loads and so did everyone around me and good times were definitely had!

As I’ve been busy partying at festivals for the last couple of months, I’m pretty late to the party when it comes to their high-class edit of Anderson.Paak’s ‘Come Down’ which has been checked out, liked, reposted and downloaded by a large number of people already. Even though it’s very popular tune, it more than deserves a spot on the LSM blog and if you haven’t got yourself a copy, what are you waiting for?!

As an extra bonus to this post, you can also get your hands on a free mix from the Scottish duo. Their ‘Cabaret Voltaire Freshers ’17’ mix, contains some of the finest Disco gems to tease your eardrums and has been released to promote their new residency at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh, so if you live there or your visiting, be sure to keep an eye out to see if these guys are on because it’ll be a night not to be missed.

Download SLY’s edit here via Hypeddit.

It has been a little while now since we’ve caught up with our good friend Pecoe. As well as continuing to blog awesome music himself on his own blog, Breakzlinkz, he has also been as busy as always dropping tracks of his own with some of those have found their way onto albums from Breakbeat Paradise Recordings and Nu Blends. From the tracks he’s released himself, we’ve picked out his phat Funky Breaks edit of the classic 70’s psychedelic tune ‘It’s Just Begun’ by, The Jimmy Castor Bunch, to share with you and we’re sensing there’ll be a lot of love sent his way once checked out.

Even though Pecoe has clearly been a busy chap, he’s keeps on finding the time to upload classic Breakbeat mixes from all of the legendary names of the ‘Golden Era’ period to his ‘Old Breaks Mixes’ page over on Soundcloud. One of the mixes to recently surface just so happens to be from himself and it contains an awesome handful of choice cuts from a genre of music that gave us so much back in the day. You can check it and download it below and while you’re there, have a scan of the tracklist, it’s a beauty!

The not so conventional act that is Slamboree is this weeks guest for the Armory Podcast.

Recently described as a mash-up of Basement Jaxx and The Rocky Horror Picture Show performing at The Moulin Rouge, Slamboree are one of a kind ensemble. The idea was hatched in the deepest darkest crevices of multi-award winning producer Mike Freear’s mind after working closely with vocal powerhouse and linguistic snake charmer Kathika Rabbit and guided by the tantalising visuals of theatrical artistic director Lizzie West.

Slamboree is a collective of multi-skilled, revolutionary performers and musicians that put energy, passion and pure insanity into their unique and extravagant immersive stage experiences. Bringing the Slamboree storm to clubs and festival stages across the world – this is unlike anything you will have seen before.
