There’s a sneaky suspicion here on the ward that 2016 is going to a massive year for, Rocstar Recordings. There roster is a wash with some top class artists with one of them being, Cakeboy. After the success of his, Chemical Brothers remix, that we brought a while back, he has returned with with some very impressive work of his own in the shape of his four track EP ‘ON’.

If you’re a fan of the broken beat then this is an EP you really need to be investigating. ‘Jib Jab’ kicks things off on a punchy, funky Big Beat note with the title track of the EP ‘On’ offering more Big Beat goodness but with a much rougher, gnarly edge to it. The third track ‘Walking In The Rain’ sees a collab with, Kitten & The Hip, that goes very much down a fierce and fiery Glitch Hop route. ‘Supercell’ finishes this superb EP off in the best style! If you like your Breakbeat from lets say, mid 2000’s, then this is a track you’ll be salivating over for some time! If you’ve not damaged the bank balance too much over the Christmas period, this EP should be next on your purchase list, without doubt.
