Kronology- Voyager/Forward Motion

The Hungarian duo of, Kid Panel and DJ Clairvo, find themselves at opposite ends of the Breaks world, tempo wise. Kid Panel creates the more uptempo, floor smashing variety, while, DJ Clairvo comes in with something a lot chunkier and funkier at the lower end of the bpm scale. When these guys get together they work under the name, Lack Jemmon and create a sound which is pretty much bang in the middle of their solo workings.

With a great deal of hype growing for the duos, Lack Jemmon work, the guys over at, Fort Knox Five, happily handed over the reigns of their ‘Funk The World‘ mix series to them. As you’re about to experience, the call that was an inspired one as an hours worth of action packed Glitch Hop, Funk, Breaks and Disco is laid down before us. Bow down to it’s worthiness and then get up and go nuts, it’s one of those kind of mixes!

To coincide with this mix, the guys have released this cheeky re-funk of ‘Get Stupid’ by, Aston Merrygold. If you’ve ever heard a chart song get this funked up before we’d like to hear it, but for now, get on down to this banger! Extra funkula!

We are back with a new album and our own unique brand of future funk -

Time Machine

Is out on Jalapeno Records in February 2016.

Vocal appearances on the album come courtesy of Kylie Auldist (The Bamboos, Tru Thoughts) John Turrell (Smoove & Turrell), Mustafa Akbar (Fort Knox Recordings) and of course it wouldn’t be complete without the unmistakable falsetto of longtime collaborator Georges Perin.

The album title alludes to the fact this record was made with a concerted effort to keep things old school and the production was undertaken using analogue tools to emulate the same techniques that were used for the funk greats that influenced the record like George Clinton, Funkadelic, Curtis Mayfield and of course the aforementioned Godfather Of Soul.

The Freaks have dedicated the album to the memory of their friend Jon H (of Fort Knox Five) who sadly passed away in 2015 whilst the record was being written.
