Jimi Needles – Nifty Digits Vol. 1
Jimi Needles has set himself a new mission and I think it’s one we’re all going to enjoy massively! The task he has set himself is to sample and rework as many classics as possible in the styles of Nu-Funk, D&B & Hip Hop and then give them away for free. It’s certainly a task we are excited to see the development of and there’s no doubts that some real gems are bound to be created by, Jimi’s ‘Nifty Digits’! For now get locked on to Vol.1 of this series with two little D n B stunners of a couple of real classics.

Kouncilhouse – Boss
It’s a very welcomed return to the airwaves for one of the top beat-makers the UK has to offer, Kouncilhouse. Simon Tagg aka, Kouncilhouse, felt he rinsed the living daylights out this alias a few years back and figured a break was needed. The time that had passed before this decision hadn’t been spent to badly mind. The list of artists he produced with and officially remixed for include, Faithless, Stanton Warriors, Future Sound of London, Dub Pistols, Freestylers and Leeroy Thornhill, which isn’t to shabby a list, that’s for sure. The break also coincided with, Simon becoming a dad, so everything fell into place for some much needed downtime from the music.
After attempting a couple of other projects, WHAT and Daniel Jacks, Simon knew that none of them quite gave him the same buzz as his, Kouncilhouse work did. So along comes this track ‘Boss’ a brooding and slick bassline House rework of ‘Last Night A Dj Saved My Life’ by, Indeep. The track is a collab with, Simon’s good buddy and production friend, Marley, who worked with him on the other two projects before and signals the beginning of a new chapter for, Kouncilhouse, with an album already nearing completion. We can’t wait to hear that!
