As well as hosting a few events in and around the city, he can also be found producing his own tracks and jaw dropping remixes like this one of one of his favourite tracks of all time ‘Clint Eastwood’ by, Gorillaz. The leisurely flow of the original has been replaced with super solid and upfront House remix that comes complete with enough bass to make your soul vibrate. After blowing our minds with their first release, Misrishi Records are back at it again with this free 8 track LP from French producer and member of the Misrishi collective, Laster. On the LP you’re gonna find 8 Hip Hop instrumental tracks that are by far and away, the coolest cuts on the bloc. It’s that time of year where the summery edits start to rise to the surface and fully blossom and it just so happens that we’ve picked up another one of those blooming beauties from the Romanian duo, Anti.Dot and J The Funky Bear. Both these guys are lovers of smooth grooves, whether it be jazzy, funky or with a Disco influence. In this edit of theirs of the classic, Womack & Womack track ‘Teardrops’, they’ve gone down the Deep Disco route and although the guys have kept things relatively simple on the rework, it’s incredibly effective and has the original sounding up to date and ready to be enjoyed in the here and now, so go do just that…

For those lucky enough to be at the birth of Jungle in the 90’s you’d have undoubtedly come across the legendary Micky Finn who, packed with his arsenal of dubplates, led the charge and paved the way for Jungle and Drum & Bass as we know it today.

After a brief production hiatus, Micky’s back on the scene to lead the way once again. This time he’s teamed up with Vital Elements, one half of today’s Jungle pioneers Serial Killaz, who brings something very different to the table.

So Good certainly has a nod to Micky’s past, with vocals taken from the personally influenced jazz funk classic ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’ by the Peach Boys. Let’s make this clear; there’s nothing else nostalgic about it, So Good is a forward thinking, feel good beast that will be as infectious on the dance floor as it will on radio. With early support from S.P.Y to Logan D, So Good is set to land heavy with the masses.

On the flip we have True Guidance, a rare moment in music where barriers are smashed down and classics are made. It’s clear Micky & Vital Elements went all in on this one. It’s got bounce, balls and enough energy and vibes to rock festivals to sweaty basements. With vocal samples from the 80’s yard classic ‘Country Man’, these two once again show how moving forward with a glance to the past is done properly.

The worlds of Drum n Bass and Vintage Swing appear to be coming together more and more often, which is something we are more than happy about, especially when you take a listen to this track from Spanish producer, Rulo Smoka. He’s paying tribute to the Jazz singer and composer, Mel Torme by fixing up his track ‘I’m Comin’ Home Baby’ with an action packed remix. Swing n Bass is in full effect here and we love it!
