To make this EP as fully loaded, BBP have called on the big guns to provide 7 bullets that contain explosive bass and beats only. discObeta, Mr Rich and The Caretaker, Cashgroove, Wiccatron, The Funky Boogie Brothers, Rory Hoy and PulpFusion all step up to the plate with an eclectic range of sounds that’ll see the size of the dance floor swell with eager dancing feet. I’ll admit that I’m a little late to the party with this EP from The Chicken Brothers for Ghetto Funk‘s free series, but good music is good music, so it must always get shared. Good is a bit of an understatement though to be fair because the 4 tracks on offer really are first rate! The guys really showcase their versatility with this EP, starting with the epic ‘Medusa’, that’s one of the bounciest Ghetto Funk style tunes out there and the intro to it is pure genius! ‘Well Thrown Shapes’ sees the guys combine their love of Electro Swing and Drum n Bass and deliver the best party vibe! ‘London’ will lure you into a false sense of security as the Latin influenced intro will have you in carnival mode, right up until the squelchy, dirty Glitch Hop style beats and bass take over, then it’s off to the backstreets where the parties are really going down. ‘Funky Chicken’ rounds things off just as lively as the the 3 tracks gone before as they bring the horns and an Electro twist to some fat Funky Breaks. Top, top stuff and we look forward to hearing more from these guys.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had the pleasure of posting new music from, DJ Chamber, so when his new track ‘Badass Monster Robot’ popped up on a search for new tunes, naturally, we were very pleased. Not only because we knew DJ Chamber would deliver us some stylish Glitch Hop beats, which of course he has done, but also because he’s got two of the UK’s finest underground vocalists on board, Kathika Rabbit and Kurnel MC. With a talented trio like that making music together, it’s a win, win, win situation for everyone!

Peter Paul‘s music, particularly that from his earlier days, has always had a huge presence and a spiky edge to it. Now though with these two free tracks ‘Cibertrolia’ and ‘Elektrum’, he’s serving up a sound that’s more rounded, more mature and one that has eroded away the spikiness. Both of these tracks still have presence, that’s for sure, it’s just that now there’s more of a flow going down rather than being straight out hell-raisers. Get these in your party bag, they’ll come in very handy!

Having had a taste of several different styles of music in his youth, Paruballar found that Tech House and Techno were the ones that really lit up his mind. In his production work you can often find him using synths to create a great depth to his sound. This can be neatly found in his track ‘Floating’ that is indeed deep, but also massively intense and will have you on the edge of your seat with sweaty palms and a racing heart. Powerful stuff!

While Flying Mojito Bros get themselves all prepared for their sets at this years Glastonbury festival, they’ve left us with this super funky jam to keep us all groovin’ along. It’s an edit of Warren Zevon‘s ‘Night Time in the Switching Yard’, which in it’s original form is a piece of stone cold funk, but the guys have now added a dash of Disco, giving it that little extra sparkle they thought it was missing. The Glasto crowd will dig this when it’s dropped and we’re sure you will to once you’ve given it a spin.

James Jive and Mr.Harvey Miller are both top Electro Swing producers in their own right, but the chance came along for them to work together on this remix of Pink Turtle‘s 1920’s vintage style cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, and they grabbed that chance with both hands. Pink Turtle’s cover is a very traditional Swing version and James Jive & Mr.Harvey have kept the spirit of that, but they’ve now drafted in extra beats and have their remix kicking hard. Kritical Records may well be one of the smaller records labels from the UK’s capital, but don’t let that fool you into thinking the music they release is of the similar size because these guys know how to bring the bass! Here to prove that point is this free 5 track EP featuring some soon to be stars of the Bass House scene. Kaylah drops some Acid into his bass with ‘Oh So Funky, while Bisset throws in a soulful spin by using a Marvin Gaye sample on is track ‘Let Me Go’. Slim Chance takes a much tougher stance with the first of his two tracks ‘Chat Sh*t Get Banged’ and Llnk follows on by bringing the filthiest bassline to his Garage infused track ‘We Got’. Slim Chance’s second track ‘Bring The Noise’ feat. Harry Crowe certainly does that and is the heaviest and dirtiest track off the EP. 5 absolute belters that are all yours!
