Meat Katie is back with episode 15 of Lowering The Tone, the podcast that gives you more bang for your buck! Starting off with some jackin’ techno, the second half of his mix sees Meaty take things deeper on a journey, as always, though the genres.

On the interview slot, he welcomes Wreckage Inc (aka Alex Wright) who is one of the key members of the legendary Mutoid Waste Company. Many of us will be familiar with his work whether it be at festivals, flyers or art installations all around the world. Friends of the blog, Shaka Loves You, are laying down slick Disco grooves to there remix of ‘Don’t Touch That Stereo’ by, Mark Rae. Mark has a new album/book project due out very soon and is getting a few of his favourite artists to remix tracks off it. He knows all about SLY’s ability to create music that has those with funky bones pack the dance floors so for him to choose them to kick off the remixes was a no-brainer. As always, the guys have stepped up and delivered a first class tune that will appeal to many with it’s contemporary and classic Disco feel. Dive in and get on down!

Swiss producer and fellow blogger, GoodGroove, lets the Funk fly in this super extended, Disco inspired edit of ‘We The People’ by, Mani Fredo feat. The Soul Searchers. The groove is very good in this one, as is the tempo. It’ll have you stepping out with real purpose with the horns, flute, wah-wah guitar and soulful vocal all lifting you higher and higher. This is one hot and funky jam!

Snapped up by trend setters ‘Watch the Hype‘, Italy’s ‘wrng pattern’ (Crz Zrc) is one to watch! ‘BB Mixxx’ is a rolling, hazy atmospheric, lo-fi track with analogue vibes featuring lovely spacious pads and vocal samples. Combined with a rolling beat it makes it fit for home listening as well as club play. Preferring to use sounds produced on machines instead of using programmes such as Ableton or Reason, ‘wrng pattern’ is the name he uses for tunes that have been recorded live and afterwards edited. Most of his work is created patterns and simply choosing the right one!

Sonic brilliance from Koven. They make their debut on the Monstercat imprint with new single ‘Silence‘.
