‘Respect’ is Maxim’s first track to be released on the new label, Death Drum Rebel and will be the label to bring you his future releases with several already lined up with some very special vocalists on board. South Beach Recycling are a collective that go hunting for old skool Disco and Funk tracks, so that they can chop them up a bit and then rearrange them so that when they’re complete they slot right into sets for the dancefloors of today. Having been DJing since the 90’s, Dave Allison really knows his stuff, especially when it comes to Disco. He’s no stranger to having party goers groovin’ along to sets that are fuelled by funky basslines and often contain a sprinkling of his own work. One of his own tracks that will be bound to cause maximum pleasure on the dancefloor is this low slung and lush remix of ‘Callin To Ya’ by, Jackin Box. Most people will remember Freq Nasty (aka Darin McFayden) as the man with the long dreadlocks. Originally from New Zealand Freq Nasty made a name for himself in the early era of the popular Nu Skool Breaks scene developing his own unique style of music as a producer and DJ using a selection of very underground tunes in his mixes.
