The release of ‘Shadow Era Pts 1 & 2′ offers the listener to experience the sound of Aquasky from their very roots spanning over two decades. The track are taken from albums and remixes released on the seminal Moving Shadow imprint, included are unreleased dubplates that will have classic DnB collectors clamouring to snap up a copy. The vibe is very much of the mid 90s DnB sound moving away from the amen break bass heavy sound of Jungle into melodic Jazz inspired sounds that showcased the genre as more than capable of being diverse and musical. Laid back chilled grooves are the order of the day here, hazy sounds, incredible breakbeat mastery and atmosphere in bucket loads, its hard to believe these tracks were produced as far back as the mid 90s because in truth they still sound ground breaking now, maybe that’s because Aquasky were way ahead of the game!!!
